I built the first version of the Plato’s People website in 2007 after being approached by a local start up. Their aim was to fill a gap in the market place for job hunters with senior executive experience wishing to advertise their skills online.
I created the business identity and worked with a skilled PHP programmer to create a totally bespoke site that allowed users to upload their information to a fully searchable directory, all of which could be administered from a customised backend.
The following year the site began to gain traction and Plato’s People came back to me with a significantly more ambitious vision for the next incarnation of the site. Again, working with my original PHP programmer, we ported the site over onto the open-source content management system Joomla! to allow the client a much more advanced control of the site, including the ability to have subscription based membership sections.
